Why Church?
Romans 12:4-16 paints a picture of how the church should look. While parts of the Body of Christ may function differently, each part belongs to the others. A church is not just people who show up at the same place once a week to “worship;” it is a group of people devoted, first and foremost, to Christ, and then to each other. There are more than 50 “one another” passages in the New Testament, as well as multiple references to churchgoers as individual parts of one body. We are commanded to “love one another,” “serve each other,” “pray for each other,” “forgive one another,” etc. While these commands apply to all people, we believe the local church should be the most faithful living example of these ideals.

Why Mission Partnership?
Mission Partnership is a call to more within the Westover family. It is a commitment between you and the other individuals at Westover to walk alongside each other while we seek Christ and go boldly in His name. Mission Partners are not claiming mastery of the practices listed below, but instead are committing to the pursuit of growing in them.
Mission Partnership at Westover is an agreement to cultivate a heart that follows Christ while encouraging others to do the same. It is not a checklist to be monitored weekly by others; rather, it is a life trajectory toward Christ (Hebrews 12:1-2). Mission Partnership is a commitment between you and every other person at Westover to live in Christ together.

Therefore, I, as a Mission Partner of the church at Westover, commit to…
- regularly spend time in the Word of God (II Timothy 3:16-17),
- have a consistent and meaningful prayer life (Ephesians 6:18),
- purposefully invest in Christian community (Acts 2:42-47),
- give, as I am blessed, to Westover (II Corinthians 8-9, Malachi 3:10),
- pursue my role in God’s mission to reconcile people to Him (Matthew 28:18-20), and serve the Westover church family (Galatians 5:13-14).
