What is Floodgate Sunday all about?
Floodgate Sunday is an annual worship celebration during which we collect a special offering to support the Ministry Plan for Westover Hills Church.
When is Floodgate Sunday this year?
Floodgate Sunday is November 12th, 8:45 AM & 11:15 AM.
Where did the name “Floodgate Sunday” come from?
Malachi 3:10 – “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.” We believe that if we actively seek to follow His leading in all of our ministries here at Westover, God will provide the means to accomplish it through our faithful giving.
Why does Westover have a special offering?
The Westover Hills family has been blessed in so many ways, and we feel called by God to reach out to our neighbors, this city, and the world with the love of Christ. Our desire to share Jesus with others has motivated us to be bold in our planning. Focusing the church body on a single celebration of faith and ministry on one Sunday was determined to be a good way to achieve our overall goals.
How will the money we collect be used?
The funds received on Floodgate Sunday will be used along with weekly contributions to fund the Annual Plan of Ministry for the church.
Will we use any of the money to pay off debt?
No. Westover is currently debt free.
What will worship look like on Floodgate Sunday?
Floodgate Sunday is designed to be a day of celebration. We celebrate that when we give by faith, God makes amazing things happen in us and in the world. We look forward to all of Westover gathering at once to give our offerings to the Lord!
